Go Yesung, CEO of CleanTech Co., Ltd., a company specializing in cleaning equipment, received the Minister of SMEs and Startups Award at the '2021 Women Venture Week Event (hosted by the Korea Women Venture Association)' held at El Tower Grace Hall on the 4th.
CEO Go Yesung developed the world's first dry surface cleaning and watering combined electric road sweeper, the 'CleanSky 2.0K.' She was recognized for her outstanding technology and the public interest value of the product as a solution to environmental issues such as fine dust and heat waves. Along with her challenging venture spirit that does not settle for the status quo, she was honored with the Proud Women Venture Entrepreneur Award for her social and industrial contributions as a female venture entrepreneur.
Additionally, the introduction of the employee invention compensation system and future performance sharing system, as well as actual compensation payments, demonstrated her commitment to coexistence with employees. She also played a significant role in various donation activities to fulfill corporate social responsibility and in enhancing the status of the Women Venture Association, which were key factors in her award.
CEO Go stated, “Given the nature of the industry, which is accustomed to a male-centered vertical organizational culture, it is true that there were many difficulties as a female entrepreneur. However, by analyzing from new and diverse perspectives from a woman's viewpoint, communicating with members, and adopting acceptance and inclusion as core management principles, we were able to establish an innovative corporate culture and lay the foundation for today's growth.”
She added, “While this award is an honor, it also carries a heavy responsibility. Moving forward, we will do our best to expand our business areas through active R&D for new businesses and new product development, and to demonstrate our capabilities as a female venture entrepreneur.”
Meanwhile, the 'CleanSky 2.0K' is a 100% eco-friendly electric road sweeper using a large-capacity lithium battery, unlike existing road sweepers that emit fine dust and greenhouse gases. It has obtained a performance certification (priority purchase target technology development product) from the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, as well as an automobile safety inspection certificate. It also holds two patents for a high-efficiency electric sweeper and an electric sweeper with watering function.
It has been recognized not only for its excellent performance but also for its design, being selected as an Excellent Design (GD) product by the Korea Institute of Design Promotion. It also received the Korea Patent Award for its eco-friendliness and technological difficulty. Currently, it is operated by local governments nationwide, including Seoul and Daejeon, to improve environmental sanitation and reduce fine dust.
