[Damyang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kim Chunsu] On the 3rd, Damyang County in Jeonnam announced that it has been selected for the AI-IoT based Senior Health Management Pilot Project contest hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
The AI-IoT based Senior Health Management Pilot Project is a non-face-to-face health management service that helps seniors lead a healthy old age by using smart devices (wristwatch-type activity trackers, Bluetooth-connected blood pressure, blood sugar, weight scales, and AI lifestyle speakers).
Project participants will receive various health measurement devices such as wristwatch-type activity trackers and Bluetooth blood pressure and blood sugar monitors. Through data collected from these devices, health center professionals will assist with remote health management and provide opportunities to become familiar with smart devices.
Following this selection, the county plans to officially start the service from next year. The project targets seniors aged 65 and older who need to improve their health behaviors and must own a smartphone.
A county official stated, “Many seniors have faced difficulties managing their health due to COVID-19, but through this contest selection, it is expected to prevent infectious disease outbreaks and enable systematic health management.”
