"Conveniently at the Convenience Store Near Home" LG Uplus Launches U+ Altteul Phone Shared SIM 'One Chip'

[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] LG Uplus announced on the 3rd that starting from the 4th, it will launch a shared SIM card called "Modu-ui SIM, One Chip" that allows subscription to the plans of 27 U+ Alttel phone operators using its network. One Chip is a SIM card that can be used by all U+ Alttel phone operators regardless of prepaid or postpaid status and will be sold at over 5,800 Emart24 convenience stores nationwide.

Until now, to subscribe to an Alttel phone, customers had to purchase a SIM card online and receive it by delivery or buy a dedicated SIM card for each operator separately. However, with the launch of One Chip, customers can purchase a SIM card at a nearby convenience store and immediately subscribe to the desired Alttel phone. After purchasing One Chip, using the self-activation service allows activation within 5 minutes without waiting for completion or calling customer service.

Customers who want to use U+ Alttel phones can purchase One Chip at a nearby Emart24 store and activate it through the "U+ Alttel Phone Partners" website or each U+ Alttel phone operator’s website.

To commemorate the launch of One Chip, LG Uplus is holding an event until the 31st where customers who purchase One Chip at Emart24 and subscribe to U+ Alttel phones will be entered into a draw to win Signiel Suite room accommodation vouchers (10 winners), AirPods Pro (100 winners), and coffee exchange coupons (10,000 winners).

Kang Jinwook, head of the MVNO business division, said, “We planned One Chip to make U+ Alttel phone customers true fans of LG Uplus,” adding, “This is part of LG Uplus’s Alttel phone win-win program ‘U+ Alttel Phone Partners 2.0,’ and we are pleased to be able to support coexistence with small and medium Alttel phone operators.”
