[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Hyunjin] It was recently revealed that Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong and former Leeum Museum Director Hong Ra-hee visited Haeinsa Temple in Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam, on the 1st.
On the 2nd, photos of the two were posted on social media (SNS). The photos show former Director Hong wearing a white lightweight padded jacket and Vice Chairman Lee in a suit holding hands as they climb the stairs of Haeinsa Temple together, as well as what appears to be them coming out after paying respects.
Their visit to Haeinsa Temple seems to have been to commemorate the first anniversary of the late Chairman Lee Kun-hee. The 25th of last month marked the first anniversary of Chairman Lee Kun-hee’s passing, and the 1st of this month coincided with the 52nd anniversary of Samsung Electronics’ founding, which Chairman Lee had established. In December last year, a 49th-day memorial service for Chairman Lee was also held at Haeinsa Temple.
A business insider said, "It seems that Vice Chairman Lee, feeling regretful and sorry for causing concern to his mother, former Director Hong, due to his long imprisonment, split his schedule to accompany and comfort her."
