[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Gwangju Nambu Fire Station (Chief Lee Jeong-ja) announced on the 31st that thanks to Kim, a student at Juwol Middle School, who witnessed a fire and promptly reported it to 119, the damage was minimized.

The student, on the 25th at around 6:13 PM, was passing by a flower shop located in Bongseon-dong when they noticed smoke coming from a fluorescent light, reported it to 119, and called the flower shop owner to inform them of the situation.

Thanks to the student's quick report, the fire station promptly dispatched firefighters who extinguished the fire, resulting in damage limited to only part of the interior ceiling and floor of the building.

The Nambu Fire Station emphasized that the first five minutes after a fire breaks out are critical, and that the prompt report by the initial discoverer can save precious lives, urging all citizens for their attention and cooperation.
