According to Yoo's camp, the day before, supporters of Yoo prepared to cheer in front of the broadcasting station to support Yoo Seung-min for the debate scheduled on the evening of the 31st. However, a supporter of former Prosecutor General Yoon, who tried to take over the spot belatedly, pushed down Yoo's supporters or bit the arm of a young supporter, causing injury.

A similar incident occurred during the Gangwon Province broadcast debate on the 27th. A supporter of former Prosecutor General Yoon struck a supporter of Yoo Seung-min with an elbow to the neck.

During the Gangwon Province broadcast debate, Yoo's camp demanded an apology and measures to prevent recurrence from Yoon's camp, but no apology or measures were taken.

Kwon Sung-joo, spokesperson for Yoo Seung-min's campaign, said, "The bizarre assault incident by a supporter of candidate Yoon that occurred yesterday is the responsibility of Yoon Seok-yeol, who has neglected and taken no action despite previous assaults," and added, "Therefore, the Yoo Seung-min Hope Campaign once again requests a sincere public apology from candidate Yoon Seok-yeol." He continued, "If there is no apology, it is an admission that candidate Yoon is behind these series of assault incidents," and argued, "You can see the candidate by looking at their supporters."
