Strict Response to Corruption, Fulfilling the Role as an Exemplary Integrity Institution
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority (President Cha Min-sik) announced on the 28th that it conducted an integrity special lecture for all employees, hosted by the head of the institution.
The special lecture, held under the theme "Conflict of Interest Prevention Act and Employee Code of Conduct Explained by a Doctor of Law," was led by the institution head, who majored in law, demonstrating expertise to easily educate employees on the purpose and content of anti-corruption policies, thereby enhancing their understanding of relevant laws.
President Cha Min-sik stated, "We will thoroughly implement not only the employee code of conduct but also the Conflict of Interest Prevention Act, which will be enforced in May 2022, to fundamentally block the possibility of corruption. Furthermore, we will respond strictly to any corruption that occurs and fulfill our role as an exemplary integrity institution," expressing a strong commitment to practicing integrity.
Meanwhile, to proactively respond to the Conflict of Interest Prevention Act, the authority is reorganizing the employee code of conduct and checking for conflict of interest situations through public service compliance inspections. It also operates anonymous anti-corruption reporting systems such as the Safe Reporting Lawyer System and Help-Line on an ongoing basis.
