[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 28th that it won awards in three categories, including the Public Sector Excellence Award, at the '2021 Urban Regeneration Industry Expo' attended by local governments and related organizations nationwide.
The 'Urban Regeneration Industry Expo,' hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, is an event to promote the Urban Regeneration New Deal project, a national agenda promoted by President Moon Jae-in, and to share achievements among the local governments implementing the project.
At the opening ceremony of the Urban Regeneration Industry Expo held on the 27th, Hamyang-gun was honored with the Public Sector Excellence Award, and Choi In-gi, Director of Safety and Construction Bureau, Son Jae-hyun, Director of the Urban Regeneration Support Center, and Lee Jeong-min, Urban Regeneration Officer, received awards for Outstanding Public Official and Outstanding Center Director.
Hamyang-gun was selected for Urban Regeneration New Deal public contest projects worth a total of 41.7 billion KRW, including 16.5 billion KRW for Yongpyeong-ri general neighborhood type in 2018, 8.8 billion KRW for Indang Village Our Neighborhood Revitalization type in 2019, and 16.4 billion KRW for Anui-myeon general neighborhood type in 2021.
Choi In-gi, Director of Safety and Construction Bureau, emphasized, "Following the selection of Hamyang-eup in 2018, the preliminary project of Indang Village in 2019, the main project of Indang Village in 2019, the preliminary project of Anui-myeon in 2020, and the main project of Anui-myeon in 2021, the projects are progressing according to the higher-level Urban Regeneration Strategic Plan. We will do our best to make it the cornerstone for building Hamyang's future 100-year value."
Hamyang-gun is promoting the overall progress and tourism products of the Yongpyeong-ri, Indang Village, and Anui-myeon urban regeneration projects through this expo held in Changwon until the 30th.
