The American real estate media outlet The Dirt detailed the house purchased by Vice Chairman Chung in an article titled "Billionaire Samsung Heiress Buys $19.2 Million Beverly Hills Luxury Mansion" on the 26th.
Located in the upscale Beverly Hills neighborhood near Los Angeles, USA, this house was completed in 2012. It is built on a lot of approximately 2,063㎡ (620 pyeong) with a building area of 1,021㎡ (309 pyeong), featuring 6 bedrooms and 10 bathrooms inside.
The mansion includes amenities such as a movie theater, gym, swimming pool, spa, sauna, wine cellar, and outdoor lounge. The first-floor living room has a marble fireplace, and the kitchen includes a spacious dining area along with a pantry.
The Dirt reported that the mansion is priced at $19.2 million, approximately 22.5 billion KRW. It is designed in the 'Tuscan style,' inspired by ancient Roman architecture, and described as 'luxuriously decorated.' Additionally, the entrance is built in the 'portico style,' where columns support the porch roof, and the lobby features a grand staircase and a huge chandelier.
The Dirt described Vice Chairman Chung as "the only son of Lee Myung-hee (Chairwoman of Shinsegae Group), one of Korea's wealthiest women and a Samsung heiress," and "the vice chairman of the company operating Emart, Korea's largest supermarket chain." It also added that he is a cousin of Lee Jae-yong, Vice Chairman of Samsung Electronics, and Lee Mi-kyung, Vice Chairman of CJ Group and producer of the 2019 Oscar-winning film Parasite.
Meanwhile, the seller of this mansion is An Sinantaro, an Indonesian coal magnate, who reportedly purchased the house in 2012 for $12.6 million (about 14.7 billion KRW). At one point, the asking price for this mansion reached $22 million (about 25.8 billion KRW).
