Visiting Lover's House and Detaining... Woman in Her 50s Booked for Violating 'Stalking Punishment Act'

[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] A woman in her 50s who repeatedly called and even confined a man with whom she had a past extramarital relationship was arrested by the police.


According to the police on the 28th, the Jungnang Police Station in Seoul is investigating a woman in her 50s, Ms. A, on charges including violation of the Act on the Punishment of Stalking Crimes (Stalking Punishment Act).


Ms. A is accused of going near Mr. B's house, with whom she had a past extramarital relationship, around 9 p.m. on the 23rd, making more than 20 phone calls and threatening, saying, "If you don't meet me, I will come to your house." Ms. A is also charged with confining Mr. B by putting him in a car and preventing him from getting out on the 19th of last month.


The police responded to the report and arrested Ms. A near Mr. B's house. Additionally, emergency protective measures No. 1 and 2 were imposed, including a ban on approaching within 100 meters of the residence and a ban on approaching via telecommunications.
