[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] KOTRA will hold a webinar on the 28th under the theme of "2021 Overseas Import Regulations and Non-Tariff Barrier Response Strategies."
The event aims to review the expanding trade barrier trends due to the strengthening of global protectionism and economic nationalism, and to seek response measures through analysis of issues expected to pose difficulties for Korean companies and case studies of responses.
The webinar will also introduce major trends and response strategies regarding TBT (Technical Barriers to Trade), the most significant type of non-tariff barriers notified to the World Trade Organization (WTO). Following this, experts in various fields will present precautions and response measures on key TBT issues such as certification and licensing, which have been particularly challenging for Korean exporters in countries including India, Indonesia, and China. The webinar can be viewed from 2 p.m. on the day via KOTRA's YouTube channel.
Kim Tae-ho, Head of KOTRA's Economic and Trade Cooperation Headquarters, stated, "With the spread of protectionism, our companies need to thoroughly understand trade regulation information more than ever and the public and private sectors must collaborate to devise joint response strategies. KOTRA will also promptly gather trade regulation information from various countries, inform our companies, and expand cooperation with relevant overseas institutions to support companies in overcoming difficulties."
