Gimhae City Rolls Up Sleeves to Promote Jinyeong Dangam Persimmons

Gimhae City, Gyeongnam, is collaborating with Seowon Distribution to hold a promotion event for Jinyeong Dan-gam persimmons at 75 Top Mart locations in the Yeongnam region.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Gimhae City, Gyeongnam Province announced on the 28th that it will hold a promotional event to boost the consumption of Jinyeong Dan-gam persimmons.

At this event, high-quality persimmons produced in Jinyeong-eup, Gimhae City, the birthplace of Dan-gam persimmons, will be sold at a 20% discount compared to market prices.

The city and the cooperative joint business corporation organized this event to support farmers whose sales channels shrank due to the cancellation of the Jinyeong Dan-gam Festival caused by COVID-19. A promotional event in the metropolitan area is being prepared for November.

Additionally, as non-face-to-face agricultural product purchases increase, various special sales events such as the Gayatteul shopping mall and drive-thru promotions will be conducted simultaneously to support the expansion of sales channels.

A city official stated, "We will continue to hold promotional events for agricultural specialties in cooperation with large distribution companies and do our best to help open new sales channels so that farmers' incomes can increase."
