[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] The Bangbae Police Station in Seoul announced on the 26th that it has signed a business agreement with CJ ENM Co., Ltd. and Liroschool to respond to the increasingly organized voice phishing crimes.
Through this business agreement, the police will broadcast crime prevention videos using two home shopping channels operated by CJ ENM and carry out crime prevention activities utilizing online apps. The police expect to contribute to reducing damage by raising awareness of the seriousness of voice phishing crimes among approximately 15 million members.
In addition, through the business agreement with Liroschool, which has 880,000 members including 550 schools nationwide and parents, voice phishing and messenger phishing prevention activities will also be conducted targeting middle-aged and older parents and women in their 40s to 60s.
Kim Sang-moon, chief of the Bangbae Police Station, urged, "Voice phishing crimes cause great harm to ordinary people, and prevention is as important as arrests. We hope that through active promotion, ordinary citizens will not fall victim to these crimes."
