Samba Achieves Early '1 Trillion Won in Sales'... 3Q Sales 450.7 Billion Won, Operating Profit 167.4 Billion Won

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Chun-hee] Samsung Biologics announced its third-quarter results with sales of 450.7 billion KRW and an operating profit of 167.4 billion KRW. The company achieved cumulative sales of 1.1237 trillion KRW this year, reaching the 1 trillion KRW sales mark ahead of schedule.

Samsung Biologics disclosed on the 26th that its third-quarter consolidated operating (provisional) results were sales of 450.733 billion KRW, operating profit of 167.411 billion KRW, and net profit of 131.774 billion KRW. Compared to the same period last year, these figures increased by 64.15%, 196.12%, and 134.97%, respectively. Notably, it set a new quarterly record for the second consecutive quarter.

For the cumulative figures this year, sales reached 1.1237 trillion KRW, a 42.3% increase from last year's 789.5 billion KRW, achieving membership in the '1 Trillion KRW Sales Club' for the third consecutive year within just three quarters. It has already surpassed last year's total annual sales of 1.1648 trillion KRW. Operating profit also rose 104.0% to 408.5 billion KRW, and net profit surged 117% to 314.3 billion KRW.

Samsung Biologics explained, "Due to new product order achievements and increased utilization rate of Plant 3, third-quarter sales increased by 64% compared to the same period last year, and operating profit increased by 196% year-on-year due to sales growth and operating leverage effects from the higher utilization rate of Plant 3."
