November 1 Hanwoo Day... Online Grand Festival Held

[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyunjung] The Korea Hanwoo Association, the Livestock Economy Headquarters of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation, and the Hanwoo Self-Governing Committee, along with Hanwoo producers, will hold an online Hanwoo Culture Grand Festival with the public on July 1st to celebrate the 13th Hanwoo Day.

As with last year, this year's Hanwoo Day event will be held online under the theme "Engraving the meaning and value of Hanwoo, a Korean cultural heritage to be passed down to future generations, and a day for all citizens to enjoy Hanwoo." Various discount events and Hanwoo cultural activities have been prepared.

Among the Hanwoo Culture Contest categories, the slogan section, which has already closed, selected Kim Jeonghyun’s entry "Hanwoo! Embracing Health, Connecting with Culture" as the grand prize winner, and it will be used as the official slogan for the 13th Hanwoo Day. Award-winning works including Hanwoo culture photos, paintings, slogans, and advertisements will be exhibited at the Seoul Shinmun Plaza.

During the online commemorative ceremony, programs sharing the meaning and value embedded in Hanwoo and connecting it with the daily lives of citizens will be unveiled. Non-face-to-face online content includes ▲ a busking performance at a Hanwoo farm by the band Yuk Joong Wan ▲ comedian Park Myungsoo delivering Hanwoo to medical staff fighting on the frontlines of COVID-19 prevention through the "Love and Happiness Delivering Woo (牛) Chebu" program ▲ and a lecture by Professor Kim Changok titled "The Journey of Hanwoo to Our Dining Table."

Alongside this, large-scale online and offline Hanwoo meat discount sales events will be held again this year. Hanwoo will be sold at affordable prices through various nationwide distribution channels such as the online Hanwoo marketplace, Naver Live Commerce, large supermarkets, and agricultural cooperatives.
