[AKYUNG Poll] Virtual Match Lee Jae-myung 38.9% vs Yoo Seung-min 36.1%

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] In a hypothetical matchup between Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party presidential candidate, and former lawmaker Yoo Seung-min, a presidential candidate from the People Power Party, Lee is shown to be slightly ahead of Yoo within the margin of error.

Asia Economy commissioned Win-G Korea Consulting to conduct a public opinion poll from the 23rd to the 24th targeting 1,024 voters aged 18 and older nationwide (100% mobile phone virtual numbers, automated response). The results showed that in the hypothetical matchup between Lee and Yoo, Lee received 38.9% support while Yoo received 36.1%, putting Lee 2.9 percentage points ahead. The race is within the margin of error.

Lee showed strength among women, voters aged 40 and above, and in the Gyeonggi·Incheon and Honam regions, while Yoo received higher support from voters in their 20s and 30s, as well as in Gangwon and Jeju regions.

In this poll, 73.6% of Democratic Party supporters said they back Lee, while 53.3% of People Power Party supporters said they support Yoo.

Among respondents without a party affiliation or who were unsure, Yoo held a slight lead, with 32.3% support compared to Lee's 27.5%.

The response rate for this survey was 6.6%, and the sample was extracted based on gender, age, and region weighting according to the resident registration population data from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety as of late January. The sampling error is ±3.1 percentage points at a 95% confidence level.
