GenianS, Obtains SaaS Security Certification for Cloud Services

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] Integrated security platform company Genieons announced on the 26th that it has obtained the Cloud Service Security Certification (CASP) certified by the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA). CASP is a system that objectively and fairly evaluates the security level of products and services to certify them so that public institutions can safely use private clouds.

Cloud service providers can enhance user trust, and national and public institutions using cloud services can build secure cloud services by using certified cloud services.

The certified product is the cloud-based next-generation network access control solution, ‘Genian Cloud NAC.’ It provides a terminal management and control platform based on the cloud and supports various platforms and operating environments. It enables automatic, rapid installation and security service operation without changes to the existing system environment.

Cloud NAC was developed with purely proprietary technology, secured numerous customers in overseas markets, and was launched domestically in the first half of last year as an NAC service model (NAC as SaaS). It is a subscription model where users pay only for what they use. Since payment is made monthly based on the number of nodes, initial introduction costs can be reduced.

‘Genian Cloud NAC’ obtained certification in the SaaS standard grade category and is the first domestic security solution product to receive SaaS certification. It passed the criteria of a total of 78 control items across 13 areas, including information protection policy and organization, personnel security, asset management, service supply chain management, and incident management, which are evaluation factors of SaaS certification.

Security products must obtain CC certification or a security function confirmation to enter the public market, but in cloud environments, CC certification alone is insufficient. To provide CC-certified security products as a service in cloud environments, obtaining SaaS certification is essential.

By obtaining certification, Genieons has demonstrated stability and reliability in providing security functions of information protection products in cloud environments. ‘Genian Cloud NAC’ offers services on AWS for general companies and provides security services on Naver Cloud, which has IaaS certification, for public institutions.
