[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] The bespoke trend has begun to sweep the premium mattress market as well. Sealy Mattress recently opened an experiential store within Shinsegae Art & Science’s ‘Sound Sleep Gallery,’ offering an unprecedented sleep experience and bespoke production service as a premium mattress brand. This fresh service is attracting the attention of MZ generation consumers who seek not only product quality but also trendiness and individuality.


After making a reservation and visiting the Sealy Mattress bespoke experiential store, customers can choose the mattress’s spring type, cushioning, size, and color according to their preferences through a one-on-one consultation with an expert. On-site, customers can examine the fabric colors and actual springs, check options on a pre-questionnaire, and customize a bespoke mattress tailored to their tastes. With 2 types of springs, 4 sizes (excluding some spring applications), 7 panel colors, and 5 colors each for tape and border, there are over 6,000 possible combinations.


After consultation and option selection, customers can also try sleeping for about an hour in a specially prepared private space. The store explains that the actual usage experience, which is distinctly different from just sitting briefly in a regular store, results in a very high on-site order rate.


Before opening this bespoke store, Sealy Mattress collaborated with space designer Cho Hee-sun this summer to launch the bespoke frame ‘Sealy X ChoHeeSun,’ marking the beginning of bespoke marketing. It is said that consumer interest is high because the bedroom interior atmosphere can be easily changed just by color combinations.
