[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Changwon City, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 25th that the 21st Masan Chrysanthemum Festival will be held entirely as a walking tour.
Originally, this chrysanthemum festival was scheduled to be held with strengthened quarantine guidelines, allowing vehicle viewing from the 27th to the 31st, and walking tours from the 1st to the 7th of next month.
However, as the recent vaccination rate approaches 70% and in line with the government's With-Corona policy, the event has been changed to a full walking tour with segmented quarantine rules applied to each event zone to allow more citizens to view the exhibition.
The segmented rules include mandatory visitor log registration, temperature checks, hand sanitization, and mask-wearing upon entering the chrysanthemum flower exhibition hall. Quarantine booths and contactless full-body disinfection machines will be installed at three entrance gates and one event gate.
According to the social distancing standards applied to the exhibition hall, the 70,000㎡ exhibition area will maintain a simultaneous capacity limit of 11,600 people per time slot (one person per 6㎡).
In the 4,080㎡ performance stage area, seating will be spaced 2 meters apart, with the audience limited to under 1,000 people. Guidance personnel will be deployed to strictly manage the event.
Experience zone booths will install acrylic partitions to block droplet infections and minimize contact. Eating and drinking are strictly prohibited inside the exhibition hall, experience, promotion, and performance areas, and meals are only allowed when seated in designated rest areas.
Additionally, a can train will operate inside the exhibition hall to provide convenience for elderly and other visitors who have difficulty walking.
Finally, to maintain order, social distancing, and safe viewing guidance, a total of 1,984 personnel including public officials, volunteers, exemplary drivers association members, and security staff will be deployed to prepare a safe and enjoyable festival.
Mayor Heo Seong-mu said, "We will do our best to prepare so that many people tired of daily life due to COVID-19 can find comfort through the Masan Chrysanthemum Festival filled with the scent of chrysanthemums."
