November 20th at 10 AM, in the library children's room
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Jeonnam Gwangyang Jungma Library announced on the 25th that, as part of this year's Book Start project, it has prepared the children's puppet show "Peter Pan" to encourage local children to develop a reading habit and for the whole family to enjoy cultural activities together.
The performance will be held on Saturday, November 20th, from 10 a.m. for one hour on the stage of the children's room at Jungma Library, where actors and children will interact directly.
This puppet show tells the story of Peter Pan visiting the three siblings Wendy, John, and Michael in 21st century London, embarking on an adventure to have new experiences and bravely confronting Captain Hook's conspiracy.
The production is handled by the theater troupe "Geukdan Kkokkoma," which has been planning puppet shows including traditional folktales, classic stories, and original plays since 2010, starting with the traditional folktale puppet show "The Caterpillar That Flew to the Sky," and has been performing nationwide at cultural centers, libraries, and kindergartens.
Jeong Seon-mi, team leader of Jungma Library, stated, "Considering the COVID-19 situation, the in-person audience is limited to 50 people, and instead, the performance will be streamed live on YouTube so that children can watch it in their preferred way."
Go Geun-seong, director of Library Operations, said, "We have prepared an entertaining puppet show so that children and families exhausted by COVID-19 can escape into the world of innocence together," adding, "We hope many citizens visit Jungma Library with their children and have a joyful time."
