Suncheon-si Launches Operation of Daily Recovery Promotion Team

[Suncheon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Heo Seok) announced that it will form and operate a Daily Recovery Promotion Team starting from the 25th.

Suncheon City, which declared the transition to With Corona through Mayor Heo Seok's statement on the 22nd, formed the Daily Recovery Promotion Team as its first step.

The Daily Recovery Promotion Team, led by Mayor Heo Seok, is divided into five sectors: General Support Team, Life Stability Team, Economic and Livelihood Team, Social and Cultural Team, and Quarantine and Medical Team. A total of 27 departments will participate to prepare and implement phased daily recovery policies.

Support for education, welfare, and vulnerable groups, whose activities were restricted due to COVID-19, will be strengthened, and efforts will focus on revitalizing the local commercial district so that small business owners and self-employed individuals, who suffered the most from prolonged social distancing, can recover to pre-COVID-19 conditions.

Additionally, opportunities for emotional healing of citizens through cultural enjoyment will be expanded, and festivals and events to revitalize local tourism will be carried out normally.

COVID-19 vaccinations will be encouraged so that 85% of citizens can be vaccinated, and measures to prepare for a surge in patients will also be established. Suncheon Medical Center will be designated and operated as a collaborative hospital to enable home treatment for asymptomatic and mild confirmed cases, and plans to establish and expand home treatment will be prepared.

A city official said, “We thank the citizens who actively cooperated with quarantine activities and endured difficulties over the past two years.” He added, “We will thoroughly and systematically prepare so that all 290,000 Suncheon citizens can return to a precious and happy daily life.”
