"Year's Biggest Shopping Festival" 11st's 'Sibilsal Festival' Is Coming

[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] 11th Street announced on the 25th that it will hold the biggest shopping festival of the year, the '2021 Sipiljeol Festival,' from November 1 to 11.


11th Street stated, "November used to be an off-season for shopping before Christmas and year-end shopping seasons until a few years ago, but since its launch in 2008, 11th Street has led the online shopping trend in November by holding large-scale promotions unique to 11th Street every year," adding, "This year will be the largest ever '2021 Sipiljeol Festival.'


Top domestic and international brands such as Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, CJ CheilJedang, and Apple are participating, along with about 70 brands including Amorepacific, Fila, and Pulmuone, which have signed business agreements (JBP) with 11th Street this year and are conducting exclusive promotions. The total number of popular brands has doubled from about 40 last year to 80, taking center stage in the '2021 Sipiljeol Festival.'


Based on customer product preference analysis and sales big data on competitive products by brand accumulated by 11th Street, more than 1,200 competitive brands in various fields such as digital, mart, fashion, beauty, and living have also been recruited. 11th Street said, "Tens of thousands of sellers will participate in the '2021 Sipiljeol Festival' offering special price sales, and competitive Amazon overseas direct purchase products sold on the 'Amazon Global Store' will be added, demonstrating competitiveness worthy of the largest shopping festival in Korea."


During the '2021 Sipiljeol Festival,' 11th Street will conduct live broadcasts 11 times daily, totaling 121 times. This is three times the number of live broadcasts (42 times) during the same period last year. Every hour, there will be time deal specials, '100-won deal' products that raise the shopping festival atmosphere, exclusive deals available only on 11th Street's 'Amazon Global Store,' and daily quiz events, offering diverse shopping fun at the '2021 Sipiljeol Festival.'


Lee Sang-ho, CEO of 11th Street, said, "The 2021 'Sipiljeol Festival' has been prepared on a scale so large that the term 'unprecedented' is not enough," adding, "We will create a 'Sipiljeol Festival' worthy of its reputation to gift excitement and emotion through a satisfying and joyful 11-day shopping festival."


The main event, Sipiljeol, on November 11, recorded a daily transaction amount of 201.8 billion KRW last year, a 38% increase compared to the previous year (147 billion KRW), continuously breaking daily transaction records. This is the largest record in the history of domestic e-commerce.
