Experience the Stamp Exhibition in the 'Metaverse' as Well

Ministry of Science and ICT Postal Service Headquarters Holds '2021 Korea Stamp Exhibition' on Naver Zepeto

Experience the Stamp Exhibition in the 'Metaverse' as Well

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-su] Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, stamp exhibitions are also being held in metaverse (virtual world) format.

The Korea Post under the Ministry of Science and ICT will hold the '2021 Korea Stamp Exhibition' online from the 25th until next month 7th. Visitors can access the virtual space via their mobile phones in the metaverse, create characters, and enter the stamp exhibition hall. Characters search for hidden commemorative stamps throughout the space to take selfies and play stamp puzzle games.

Under the slogan "Stamps Speak of a Sustainable World," this exhibition conveys the sustainable values and messages of hope that Korean stamps can embody amid the COVID-19 situation through the theme "Again [re...]."

The exhibition consists of an opening session, a stamp artwork exhibition hall, and two special themed exhibition halls. In particular, the special themed halls are filled with various digital contents designed to attract the interest of the MZ generation, who are less familiar with stamp usage.

The highlight content is the stamp exhibition metaverse. Utilizing Naver's 'Zepeto platform,' the stamp exhibition metaverse was pre-released on the 11th and has already attracted 8,000 cumulative visitors, showing great interest. Visitors can enjoy games such as finding hidden commemorative stamps and solving stamp puzzles, and by participating and verifying their involvement, they can enter a draw to win prizes such as gift cards.

The digital Panplay culture (a neologism combining the Korean word for 'board' and 'play') using Instagram and augmented reality (AR) is also noteworthy. Visitors can participate in the 'Stamp Earth Keeper' challenge race by taking and sharing fun videos or photos with environmental protection stamp images combined with AR backgrounds on the stamp exhibition Instagram (@korea.stamp). Since it also conveys an environmental protection message, it is expected to be a meaningful challenge. Various prizes such as wireless earphones and coffee coupons will be given through a draw.

Additionally, various events such as 'Cheering Comments for Stamp Designers' and 'Making Stamp Card News' are prepared. On the official Korea Post YouTube channel (youtube.com/ekoreapost), a live broadcast related to the stamp exhibition titled "Smart Korea Stamps (Suwoopyo)" will be held at 4 p.m. on the 25th.
