"A Person Who Used Their Fame as a Weapon to Commit One-Sided Sexual Harassment and Assault"
Agency States, "It Seems Like Defamation... Will Take Legal Action"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Soyoung] Trot singer Park Gun has announced legal action in response to being identified as the person involved in an allegation claiming he was sexually harassed and gaslighted by "singer P, a former special forces member."
On the 23rd, Park Gun's agency reportedly stated in a phone interview with another media outlet, "The content of the posted message is completely unfounded and appears to be slander," adding, "We will take legal action."
Previously, on the 22nd, a post titled "I was gaslighted by singer P, a former special forces member" was uploaded on an online community.
The author, who claimed to be a senior at P's agency, revealed, "Singer P is loved by many for his pure and sincere image on TV. Although he is portrayed as a wholesome young man, he used his status as a star as a weapon to subject me to one-sided sexual harassment and assault." The author alleged that P touched their body parts such as the buttocks and chest without permission and subjected them to gaslighting.
The author stated, "At first, he politely called me 'senior,' but as his songs gained popularity and more people recognized him, he began to look down on me," adding, "He touched my buttocks and chest without permission and said, 'My ex-girlfriend just stayed still.'"
They continued, "It was nearly impossible for a powerless woman to push away sexual harassment from a man who was a former special forces member," and said, "Since he couldn't overpower me physically, he strategically increased the level of sexual harassment and assault as if I had given permission."
Furthermore, the author added, "He flaunted his popularity to me and said that he supports the company financially, so if I want to continue working at the agency, I need to show him favor."
They also expressed, "Every time I see P's face, I get angry and shudder; I am scared. Remembering what he did to me tightens my chest, causes pain, and makes me feel nauseous," and said, "I know there are more victims. I cannot live like this, so I plan to file a complaint with all the evidence attached to try to live."
Although the author did not directly reveal P's real name in the post, some netizens who read it speculated that P might be Park Gun based on the description of "singer who is a former special forces member."
Meanwhile, Park Gun debuted with the song "Hanjanhae" and gained popularity. He later appeared on SBS trot variety show "Trot God Has Come 2," the observational variety show "My Ugly Duckling," and Channel A and SKY variety show "Steel Troops," among others.
