[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Sumi] Mixed reactions have emerged among netizens regarding a delivery food review from a sashimi restaurant, where the customer requested ingredients for spicy fish stew but received only about ten fish heads.
On the 22nd, an online community post titled "Baedal Minjok Sashimi Restaurant Review" was uploaded. The post included a photo capturing a review left by customer A, who ordered one serving of flatfish sashimi from a sashimi restaurant via a delivery app.
In the review, customer A expressed dissatisfaction, saying, "I asked for spicy fish stew ingredients as they said they would provide them, but they sent all the leftover parts from today's sashimi preparation that were meant to be discarded." They continued, "I will take all the sashimi I ordered and go to the food waste disposal site," showing their displeasure.
A attached several photos of fish heads along with the post. They stated, "There are 7 flatfish heads, 3 yellowtail heads, 1 rockfish head, and the rest are flatfish bones," adding, "They gave me enough for 20 servings of spicy fish stew with just one serving of flatfish. Is this how you handle food waste?"
The restaurant later responded to A's review, saying, "We didn't know you were drinking alone, and since elders at home like fish bones, we gave you a lot. Please understand."
Netizens' reactions were divided. Some sympathized with customer A, saying, "It's obvious they intended to get rid of leftovers," "I would feel upset too," and "Sending over ten fish heads crossed the line."
On the other hand, some defended the restaurant, arguing that they actually provided more service. They said, "The customer seems to misunderstand the meaning of the service spicy fish stew. Seodeori spicy fish stew traditionally includes heads and bones," supporting the restaurant's position.
