According to Gwangju Metropolitan City on the 23rd, nine confirmed cases of COVID-19 were diagnosed in one day, classified as numbers 5291 to 5299.

Two cases are related to an administrative order for a job introduction center, three cases are related to confirmed patients from other cities and provinces, two are imported cases from overseas, and two are under investigation due to symptoms.

The two confirmed cases related to the administrative order for the job introduction center were found to be East Timorese nationals living together.

Among the three cases related to confirmed patients from other cities and provinces, two were family infections or confirmed after overlapping movements at a restaurant in Seo-gu linked to a confirmed patient in Gangnam.

The remaining one was confirmed positive while in self-quarantine in Gwangju after leaving a high school dormitory in Yeongju, Gyeongbuk, where a confirmed case occurred.

In Gwangju, two foreigners, including overseas entrants, were infected; they are nationals of Uzbekistan and Qatar.

As a result, the cumulative number of imported confirmed cases reached 254.

Among the two under investigation due to symptoms, one is a nurse at a children's hospital located in Gwangsan-gu. The quarantine authorities plan to conduct an on-site evaluation of the hospital and then determine the scope of testing.

The nurse developed symptoms after reporting to work on the 21st and had completed the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine last month, indicating a breakthrough infection case.

The infection route of the other person is currently under investigation.
