Gwangju Bank Delivers 'Pink Box' of Feminine Hygiene Products for Youth

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jin-Hyung Park] Gwangju Bank (President Song Jong-wook) announced that at its headquarters, President Song Jong-wook of Gwangju Bank, Kim Eun-young, Head of the Gwangju Regional Headquarters of the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation, and Choi Sun-young, Chairperson of the Gae-nari Association of Gwangju Bank, attended a ceremony to deliver ‘Pink Boxes’ worth a total of 20 million KRW to 100 vulnerable female adolescents in the region.

Gwangju Bank conducted the ‘Pink Box with Gwangju Bank’ social contribution activity in collaboration with the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation to support female adolescents who face difficulties purchasing feminine hygiene products due to economic reasons.

To this end, members of the ‘Gae-nari Association,’ a group of female employees at Gwangju Bank, took the initiative to directly assemble Pink Boxes containing a total of 12 types of health and hygiene products, including feminine hygiene products, body care items, sunscreen, and masks.

As the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic has deepened the local economic downturn, increasing the burden of purchasing feminine hygiene products, these Pink Boxes will be delivered to 100 local female adolescents through the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation. Additionally, handwritten letters written by members of the Gae-nari Association of Gwangju Bank will be included to convey warm messages of encouragement.

President Song Jong-wook of Gwangju Bank said, “Amid growing anxiety among local residents and concerns about the economic downturn due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, upon hearing the stories of adolescents struggling to purchase relatively expensive health and hygiene products compared to general goods due to financial difficulties, I decided to support this cause together with the female employees of the Gae-nari Association of Gwangju Bank.” He added, “As a representative bank of Gwangju and Jeonnam, we will take the lead in various social contribution activities with a sense of mission to help children and adolescents in our region grow healthy and happy dreams.”
