On the morning of the 22nd, Ma Dong-seok expressed confidence at the online press conference for the movie Eternals (directed by Chlo? Zhao), saying, “Because of this project, I will continue to work with Marvel.”
Eternals tells the story of immortal heroes who have lived for thousands of years without revealing themselves, coming together again to fight humanity’s oldest enemy, the Deviants, after Avengers: Endgame.
Ma Dong-seok plays the superhero Gilgamesh and stands shoulder to shoulder with Hollywood actors such as Angelina Jolie, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, and Salma Hayek.
Angelina Jolie was seen visiting a campus in Incheon after it was revealed that her son Maddox is attending Yonsei University. Jolie has expressed a special affection for Korea, stating that Maddox is very interested in Korean culture. Korean movie fans also feel a sense of closeness toward her.
When asked about working with Angelina Jolie that day, Ma Dong-seok said, “It felt like meeting a friend I’ve known for a long time after a while,” adding, “It wasn’t unfamiliar.” He continued, “She said she had watched many of my action movies and that she was a fan, which I appreciated. During the Eternals interviews, she spoke well of me to journalists from various countries, and I believe that good relationship will be visible on screen.”
During the interview, a surprise event featuring Angelina Jolie took place. Ma Dong-seok was greatly surprised upon seeing Jolie and repeatedly said “Thank you.” Jolie apologized for joining the interview unexpectedly, and he shook his head, moved.
To the Korean media, Angelina Jolie said, “I want to be in Korea too,” and greeted, “We will be together soon.” She expressed her affection, saying, “Time with Ma Dong-seok feels like a dream.
