Russell Robotics Secures New Semiconductor Process Logistics Project Contract

[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] Russell Robotics, a subsidiary of Russell (CEO Kwon Soonwook), a specialized automation equipment company, announced that it has secured a semiconductor process Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) supply project worth approximately 10 billion KRW.

This project involves operating up to 50 AGVs, exceeding 150% of last year's sales. Since last year, Russell Robotics, which has delivered more than 40 AGVs exclusively for semiconductor processes, is recognized as a highly skilled company capable of simultaneously controlling and operating a large number of AGVs.

Since becoming a subsidiary of Russell in 2020, Russell Robotics has shown rapid growth in the domestic process logistics market by actively collaborating with large corporations. It is conducting mid-to-large scale projects such as the Pyeongtaek unmanned smart logistics center with CJ OliveNetworks and LGU+, and the Busan New Port automated warehouse logistics automation. It is also discussing joint cooperation as a key partner in the AGV field for overseas smart logistics projects in the U.S., India, and other countries.

Russell Robotics signed a lead manager contract with Korea Investment & Securities in February aiming for an IPO in 2022, and has successfully completed three rounds of investment so far, gaining recognition for its competitiveness and securing sufficient funding until the IPO next year.

A Russell Robotics official stated, “This project award is a meaningful achievement recognizing the company’s accumulated technology and know-how over the past 10 years,” and added, “Since the utilization of AGVs within semiconductor processes has been sufficiently verified, we expect additional orders.” The official also said, “We plan not only to successfully complete this project but also to lead the establishment of smart factories and logistics automation between processes both domestically and internationally in the future.”
