[Asia Economy Reporter Na Yeeun] A commotion occurred at a 5-star hotel in Jeju when water leaked from the ceiling of a guest room, forcing guests to move to another room.

On the 19th, a post titled "oooooo Jeju Room Interior and Exterior Leakage" was uploaded on the Jeju Provincial Government website's 'Tourism Complaints' board.

The author, Mr. A, who came to Jeju for a honeymoon, wrote, "After checking in and having dinner, I entered the 25th-floor room around 8:20 p.m. and saw water dripping from above the door. There was already some water pooled on the floor. I could hear heavy rain sounds, and water was dripping from about three spots near the window inside."

He continued, "Since I had seen a notice about exterior repair work at the hotel, I felt something was wrong and urgently informed the front desk about the leak." "I was scared that the water dripping from the ceiling might fall near the light bulb beside the sofa, so I went outside. Guests from adjacent rooms were also outside, and a staff member was assessing the situation," he said.

He added, "When I asked about the cause, they said a pipe screw on the 30th floor was faulty, causing the leak. Although they identified the cause, the water that had accumulated was still coming out."

Mr. A said, "The water kept flowing in the initial room until 9:10 p.m. when I was moved to another room. They said the water supply was cut off on other floors." He requested, "If water flowing from the 30th floor affects the 25th floor, I worry about other rooms in between. I am concerned about potential electrical accidents. Please inspect whether this hotel is truly safe."

In the video Mr. A released, water can be seen dripping from the ceiling near the window inside the hotel room. The floor was soaked with water.

Meanwhile, a hotel official explained, "It is true that some rooms experienced leaks due to pipe connection issues, but there are no safety concerns."
