[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] The Korea National University of Mokpo Maritime (President Park Sung-hyun) held an "Employment Competency Enhancement Camp" for enrolled students from the 8th to the 9th at Boseong Davichi Condo Resort, strictly adhering to quarantine rules.
According to Mokpo Maritime University on the 21st, this camp, implemented to support graduating students' employment at their desired companies, was jointly conducted by the University Employment Practice Headquarters (Director Lim Chae-hyun) and the specialized employment and start-up competency enhancement education corporation Dream Naru Co., Ltd. (CEO Kim Je-hwan), targeting 40 fourth-year students.
The camp helped strengthen students' practical employment competencies through programs essential for job preparation, such as resume/self-introduction letter writing methods, one-on-one self-introduction letter correction guidance with experts, interview skill level-up, and practical mock interviews.
Nam Il Lee, Employment Team Leader of the Mokpo Maritime University Employment Practice Headquarters, said, "Due to the lack of face-to-face classes amid the COVID-19 situation, there were many concerns about students' employment, but seeing the passionate attitude of the participating students, I strongly felt their will to get employed," adding, "I am pleased that the employment camp seemed to be an opportunity for students to take a step closer to employment."
Kang Seo-hee, a fourth-year student in the Department of Navigation who participated in the camp, said, "It was an educational course essential for job preparation, which gave me confidence in preparing for employment, which I had vague fears about, and I learned how to prepare properly, so it was really good," and added, "The 3-minute practical mock interview was very nerve-wracking but the most helpful."
Kim Je-hwan, CEO of Dream Naru, said, "After conducting this camp, I realized the interest of university students in employment and why Korea National University of Mokpo Maritime has the highest employment rate nationwide," and added, "I was impressed by the passion of the participating students and the staff of the Employment Practice Headquarters."
Meanwhile, this camp, held under the level 3 COVID-19 situation in the Jeonnam region, was safely conducted by ensuring that all participants (students, staff, instructors, and operational personnel) participated only after confirming negative results through screening tests, strictly following quarantine guidelines such as maintaining a distance of over 2 meters, disinfecting classrooms every hour, checking body temperature, and providing separate dining spaces for participants.
