Jeonju City to Complete Expansion of Jungindong City Bus Turnaround Site Next Month

Improving Working Conditions for Drivers... Restrooms and Platforms Also Established to Enhance Passenger Convenience

Jeonju City to Complete Expansion of Jungindong City Bus Turnaround Site Next Month

[Jeonju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Jeonju City announced on the 20th that it plans to complete the "Jungindong City Bus Turnaround Expansion Project," which has been underway since May with a total project cost of 1.1 billion KRW, next month.

The Jungindong city bus turnaround area has been continuously receiving complaints from village residents and hikers of Moaksan Mountain due to the narrow turnaround and parking space and the lack of a separate bus stop for boarding city buses.

Accordingly, Jeonju City purchased a nearby site (184㎡) to replace the narrow existing turnaround area, and is pushing forward with the construction of six bus parking spaces, a driver rest area, restrooms, and bus stops, with completion imminent.

Jeonju City expects that the expansion of the turnaround area will not only improve the working conditions of drivers but also greatly alleviate the inconvenience experienced by village residents and hikers.

Additionally, Jeonju City plans to newly establish a city bus turnaround area on the campus of Jeonju University by the end of this year to enhance the convenience of public transportation use for students and citizens.

Lee Kang-jun, Head of the Citizen Transportation Headquarters of Jeonju City, said, "We will continue to improve and expand public transportation facilities such as city bus turnaround areas and bus stops to ensure that citizens can conveniently use public transportation."
