[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyung-min] Kim Jin-wook, head of the High-ranking Officials' Crime Investigation Unit (Gong-su-cheo), on the 21st publicly urged those involved in the so-called 'report solicitation' scandal, including Kim Woong, a member of the People Power Party, saying, "If you are unrelated to the allegations, I urge you to appear before the Gong-su-cheo and clearly clarify the matter with confidence."

At the comprehensive audit of the Legislation and Judiciary Committee held at the National Assembly that day, in response to Choi Ki-sang, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, who pointed out that "the investigation is sluggish and must be pursued with utmost determination," Kim said, "We are approaching it with that resolve, and the substantive truth will soon be uncovered."

In response to criticism that the fact that Representative Kim referred to the subject of the complaint drafting as 'we' in the 'Kim Woong-Jo Seong-eun recording' released on the 19th could be inferred as direct or indirect involvement by former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-youl and the prosecution, he replied, "That part is also within the scope of the investigation."

Regarding the recent court ruling to uphold the two-month suspension disciplinary action against former Prosecutor General Yoon, he said, "We are also analyzing the contents of the ruling."
