Gwangju Bank Donates Talent Development Scholarship Fund to Bitgoeul Scholarship Foundation


[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Gwangju Bank announced on the 21st that it held a scholarship fund donation ceremony for nurturing talents of the Bitgoeul Scholarship Foundation at Gwangju Metropolitan City Hall, attended by Song Jong-wook, President of Gwangju Bank, Lee Yong-seop, Mayor of Gwangju Metropolitan City, and other officials.


Through this donation ceremony, Gwangju Bank donated 10 million KRW in scholarship funds, which will be used to foster talents in the Gwangju region.


Song Jong-wook, President of Gwangju Bank, said, “As the representative bank of Gwangju and Jeonnam, we will take the lead in various social contribution activities to nurture local talents so that the talents who will lead the future of our region can freely grow and design their dreams.”


Meanwhile, Gwangju Bank is conducting various social contribution activities to discover and nurture local talents as a practical measure pursuing values beyond profit, which is the management philosophy of President Song Jong-wook.


They continuously select “Hope Blossoming Study Rooms (currently 65 branches)” and “Hope Blossoming Dream Trees (currently 6 branches)” to support the growth of dreams even in difficult environments.


More than 80% of the total number of recruits are allocated and selected from the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions, and they also take the lead in hiring local talents by selecting university student ambassadors and providing opportunities for workplace experience.


In addition, through the Gwangju Bank Scholarship Association, scholarships have been awarded to local students, providing a total of approximately 3.5 billion KRW in scholarships to about 4,000 local scholarship students up to this year.
