Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority Obtains ISO Certification for Business Continuity Management System

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority (President Cha Min-sik) announced on the 21st that it has obtained the ISO22301 (Business Continuity Management System) international standard certification following its certification as an ‘Excellent Disaster Mitigation Company.’

The Excellent Disaster Mitigation Company certification is awarded by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, and ISO22301 is a certification system granted by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). It evaluates management systems designed to minimize damage and resume core functions within recovery target times when an institution’s key functions are interrupted due to a disaster.

Through systematic certification audits conducted in mid-October in two phases, the authority demonstrated that it has established an internationally recognized business continuity management system and possesses reliable disaster response capabilities.

President Cha Min-sik stated, “Following last year’s certification as an Excellent Disaster Mitigation Company, obtaining the ISO22301 certification this year has elevated our disaster response capabilities to a global corporate level. We will strive to achieve better customer satisfaction through continuous improvement of the business continuity management system.”
