[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Hyunjin] Samsung Display announced on the 21st that it has recently been conducting unique non-face-to-face internal events to refresh the atmosphere within the company and relieve employee stress amid the prolonged COVID-19 situation.

The Global Infrastructure Division, responsible for manufacturing and environmental safety within Samsung Display, recently held an online singing contest called 'Online Masked Singer.' The competition, which took place over about two months starting from the end of August, saw participation from around 70 employees who posted videos of themselves singing while hiding their faces behind distinctive costumes such as cats, ghosts, and pandas on the community platform.

Last month, the Module Development Team also held a 'Meal Kit Cooking King Contest,' where employees cooked individually and posted creatively staged photos on the community platform, depicting scenes as if enjoying their meals at campsites or restaurants. Additionally, a 'Nyang-i Contest' was held to showcase pet cats, with over 200 Samsung Display employees uploading photos of their cats.

Samsung Display also reported non-face-to-face events involving employees and their families. In August, a 'Love the Earth Drawing Contest' was held for employees' children, receiving over 800 entries expressing children's love for the environment. Prizes included Galaxy Book Pro 360, Galaxy Z Flip3, and commemorative gifts were given to all participating children.

A Samsung Display official stated, "As COVID-19 has prolonged, opportunities for offline communication such as dinners and meetings have decreased, but various efforts to get to know and understand each other through new types of events that have not been tried before are continuing," adding, "We expect that vibrant individuals will come together to create a lively company and organizational culture."
