Seven Eleven is launching the first-ever iPhone-exclusive simple touch payment service using Mirae Asset Pay in the convenience store industry at approximately 2,000 stores.
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] Seven Eleven announced on the 21st that it will introduce an iPhone-exclusive simple touch payment service using Mirae Asset Pay at about 2,000 stores, the first in the convenience store industry.
Starting with the Seoul and Jeju areas where the service was introduced this time, it plans to make the iPhone simple touch payment service available at all stores nationwide from next month.
Earlier, Seven Eleven signed a business agreement in August with NFC payment solution startup 'Allink' to introduce an iPhone-exclusive payment system.
A Seven Eleven official said, "We are dedicated to service innovation to enhance the competitiveness of franchise stores through cooperation with excellent domestic startups," adding, "We expect to provide revolutionary payment convenience to the main customer base of convenience stores, the MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z), who mainly use iPhones."
