AK Plaza, 'Gwangmyeong Branch Kinetic Art' Certified as the Largest Scale in Korea

AK Plaza announced that the kinetic art to be showcased at the Gwangmyeong branch on the 29th has been officially certified by the Korea Records Institute as the largest scale in the country.

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] AK Plaza announced on the 21st that the kinetic art to be unveiled at the Gwangmyeong branch on the 29th has been officially certified by the Korea Records Institute as the largest-scale kinetic art in the country.

Kinetic art is a form of moving art, and in the case of the Gwangmyeong branch kinetic art, various effects are possible through changes in movement and color based on lighting. The colorful lights emitted from a total of 900 LED balls will elegantly move to lively melodies, beautifully decorating the interior of the Gwangmyeong branch. Installed on the ceiling of the shopping mall, the kinetic art at Gwangmyeong branch stands 33 meters tall, equivalent to an 11-story apartment building. It measures 12 meters in width and 6 meters in height, with a volume reaching 2376㎥.

The kinetic art at the Gwangmyeong branch is performed every hour on the hour from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. for about 10 minutes with various themed songs. AK Plaza has selected themes such as ‘Light,’ ‘Love,’ and ‘Movie OST’ to showcase. After the performance, the kinetic art will continue to illuminate the Gwangmyeong branch with simple movements.
