[Damyang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] The Damyang LP Music Charging Station, being promoted in collaboration with Gwangju MBC as part of the Damyang-eup Urban Regeneration New Deal project, broke ground on the 20th.
The groundbreaking ceremony held that day was conducted with a minimal number of attendees in accordance with COVID-19 prevention guidelines, including Choi Hyung-sik, Damyang County Governor, Kim Jeong-o, Chairman of the Damyang County Council, Kim Nak-gon, President of Gwangju MBC, and Yoon Haeng-seok, Head of the Content Headquarters.
The Damyang LP Music Charging Station is being constructed by renovating the old Youth Culture House, with one basement floor and three above-ground floors, covering a total area of 983㎡, and a total of 2.4 billion KRW is being invested with a target completion date of March next year.
In July 2020, the county signed an agreement with Gwangju MBC to build the LP Music Charging Station, and the classification work has been completed to transfer LP records owned by Gwangju MBC to Damyang County.
The first floor of the LP Music Charging Station will be a cafe, the second floor an exhibition hall, and the third floor an LP bar, forming a complex cultural space.
Governor Choi Hyung-sik said, “We will devote ourselves to creating a vibrant old downtown by establishing a complex cultural space where various groups can communicate.”
