Implemented with Internal Lighting Beam Projection
Industry First Winner of the World's Top 3 Awards
The 'The EL Emotion' exhibited by Hyundai Elevator automatically adjusts the positions of the call button and floor selection buttons by recognizing the passenger's height and characteristics.
[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] Hyundai Elevator announced on the 20th that 'The L Emotion,' which interprets the elevator as a seamless space using light and shadow, won the Red Dot Design Award in the Public Space category in Germany.
With this award, Hyundai Elevator has achieved the remarkable feat of winning awards at all three of the world's major design competitions, following the IDEA in the United States (2018) and the iF Design Award in Germany (2017).
'The L Emotion,' submitted through industry-academic cooperation with the Graduate School of International Design at Hongik University (IDAS), implemented floor buttons, information displays, and interior lighting as active beam projections inspired by natural lighting.
This entry, based on the concept of seamless communication with customers, not only automatically moves the button positions by recognizing the passenger's height or characteristics but also allows the interior lighting to change diversely according to the situation.
A Hyundai Elevator official said, "Elevators serve as a medium connecting spaces, and the importance of service design based on user experience is increasingly emphasized. In line with our product philosophy aiming for vertical e-mobility, we will continue communication with customers through user-centered seamless design."
