Expected to Reach 300 Billion KRW in Cumulative Transaction Volume This Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheolhyun] Public Shopping announced on the 20th that its online mall, which celebrated its 6th anniversary, recorded a cumulative transaction amount of 270 billion KRW through the third quarter of this year. It is also expected to achieve 300 billion KRW by the end of the year.
The Public Shopping online mall opened on October 12, 2015, recording sales of about 7 billion KRW based on transaction amount, and in 2016, it surpassed 50 billion KRW in sales, marking the start of its full-scale operations. Over five years, it grew approximately 4.7 times, reaching about 270 billion KRW last year.
Public Shopping has diversified the products listed on its online mall every year and provided proactive marketing benefits on various anniversaries. Additionally, last year, the spread of non-face-to-face shopping due to COVID-19 and its designation as an official mask sales channel significantly increased its channel recognition. The cumulative number of subscribers exceeded 20 million last month.
Public Shopping plans to introduce a 'Robotic Process Automation (RPA)' system to operate a trusted online mall. This program, which performs repetitive tasks done by humans, will be utilized for inspecting counterfeit and copy products.
Choi Seonghun, Head of M Sales Office at Public Shopping, said, "The Public online mall also fulfills a public role as a public distribution channel that sells only our small and medium enterprises and agricultural, livestock, and fishery products in accordance with the founding purpose of Public Shopping," adding, "We will strive to grow into a trusted Public Shopping that customers can rely on even more."
