[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] Kwon Tae-shin, Vice Chairman of the Federation of Korean Industries (FKI), attended the 'A conversation with Mathias Cormann? An exchange for BIAC leadership' held via video conference on the 20th. At this event, Vice Chairman Kwon emphasized that to realize the OECD's vision of 'inclusive economic growth,' the OECD must provide policy guidelines for job creation by businesses.
On this day, Vice Chairman Kwon attended representing the FKI, which is a Korean member organization of BIAC, the Business and Industry Advisory Committee to the OECD. He stated, "For the OECD's vision of inclusive economic growth, it is more desirable that business vitality is revived leading to job creation rather than large-scale fiscal spending," and suggested, "The OECD should present policy guidelines on deregulation that hinders innovation for future job creation."
Meanwhile, about 90 people, including Bayer CEO Werner Baumann, Germany's largest chemical company, and Seiji Inagaki, President and CEO of Dai-ichi Life, Japan, as well as BIAC board members and representatives from member organizations, attended this video meeting.
This meeting was the first official meeting between Mathias Cormann, who took office as the new OECD Secretary-General in June, and BIAC member organizations, held exclusively for representatives of BIAC member countries and organizations. The FKI has been active as a BIAC member organization and board member country since 1996.
