[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] On Wednesday the 20th, the nationwide morning low temperature will drop below 5 degrees Celsius, making it chilly. The northern part of Gyeonggi Province and the inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon Province will experience temperatures below 0 degrees Celsius.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, as of 7 a.m. on the 20th, temperatures recorded are 4.8°C in Seoul, 5.2°C in Incheon, 3.7°C in Suwon, 3.5°C in Daejeon, 5.5°C in Daegu, 7.2°C in Gwangju, and 9.2°C in Busan. The daytime high temperature will range from 14 to 18 degrees Celsius, with a daily temperature difference of about 15 degrees.

The Meteorological Administration stated, "Please be cautious about health management due to sudden temperature changes causing weakened immunity, and outdoor workers at screening clinics, the elderly, and others should pay attention to maintaining body temperature." They added, "Frost will form inland, and ice may form in northern Gyeonggi and the inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon, so preparations should be made to prevent cold damage to crops."

In the mountainous areas of Gangwon, temperatures will drop below freezing, and rain or snow that fell until dawn may freeze, making hiking trails and roads slippery. Special caution is required for the safety of hikers and traffic safety.

By 9 a.m. on this day, dense fog with visibility less than 200 meters will occur in the central inland and North Gyeongsang inland areas, and fog with visibility less than 1 km will appear in other inland areas. As of 7 a.m., visibility at major points is 70 meters in Boeun, 100 meters in Sangdang (Cheongju), 100 meters in Yeongcheon, 130 meters in Gwangju (Gyeonggi), 130 meters in Yeoju, and 150 meters in Andong.

The Meteorological Administration said, "On bridges and roads near rivers, lakes, and valleys, fog may be denser than surrounding areas, so when driving, maintain sufficient distance between vehicles and reduce speed to prevent collision accidents."

Chilly weather with morning temperatures below 5 degrees Celsius will continue mainly inland until the day after tomorrow. On Thursday the 21st, the morning low temperature is forecast to be between 0 and 11 degrees Celsius, and the daytime high between 14 and 19 degrees Celsius. Along the southern coast of Gyeongnam Province, occasional rain is expected in the afternoon due to a pressure trough passing over the South Sea. Expected precipitation amounts are 5 to 20 mm for Ulleungdo and Dokdo, and 5 mm for the Gyeongnam coastal area.

On the East Coast and the southern coast of Gyeongnam, very high waves will be strongly pushed onto sandy beaches by swells until the 22nd, causing waves to overflow onto rocky shores, breakwaters, and coastal roads.

In the southern part of the West Sea, winds will be very strong at 10 to 16 m/s until the morning of the 20th; in the southern offshore area of Jeju Island until this morning; and in the East Sea until the 21st, with waves reaching 2.0 to 4.0 meters high. Winds will gradually strengthen and waves will rise in the eastern part of the South Sea, with the possibility of a storm warning being issued.
