Gwangju Nambu Fire Station Provides Emergency Fire Extinguisher Usage Training for Local Residents

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] The Nambu Fire Station of Gwangju Metropolitan City (Chief Lee Jeong-ja) will conduct training on the use of emergency fire extinguishing devices for local residents until the 30th.

Emergency fire extinguishing devices are devices that anyone in the local community can use to perform initial fire suppression in the event of a fire.

In Nam-gu, a total of 77 emergency fire extinguishing device boxes have been installed in fire-vulnerable areas such as traditional markets and areas difficult for fire trucks to access.

The training includes ▲ how to use and manage hose reel emergency fire extinguishing devices ▲ water spray demonstration and water spray experience ▲ fire safety education.

Go Jung-hyun, head of the 119 Disaster Response Team, said, “We will make every effort to ensure initial fire suppression through continuous education and promotion so that nearby residents can use the devices in case of emergency,” adding, “We will do our best to protect many lives and properties and prevent large-scale fires through thorough preventive activities.”
