Muan-eup, Muan-gun Presents Longevity Cane 'Cheongryeojang' to 100-Year-Old Senior

[Muan＝Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] On the 18th, Muan-eup, Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do (Eupjang Seo Chang-guk) announced that on the 14th, to commemorate the 25th Senior Citizens' Day, they visited the home of Elder Kim from Seongnae 4-ri, who turned 100 years old, and presented a longevity cane called Cheongryeojang.

Cheongryeojang is a light and sturdy cane made from the stem of the millet plant and is known as a symbol of health and longevity.

The cane is presented every year to elders who turn 100, along with a congratulatory letter in the name of the President and a longevity commemorative gift.

The elder who received the Cheongryeojang on this day said, "I am always grateful to the neighbors who visit regularly to ask about my well-being and offer warm words," and added, "I will cherish and use the Cheongryeojang I received on my 100th birthday carefully."

Seo Chang-guk, the head of Muan-eup, said, "I sincerely congratulate the elder who has reached 100 years of age in good health and will continue to carefully oversee welfare services so that the elder can enjoy a happy old age."
