[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] A memorial service to console the souls of civilians who were sacrificed in the Sancheong area during the 1949 'Yeosu-Suncheon Incident' was held on the 18th.

The Association of Bereaved Families of Civilian Victims from Sicheon and Samjang held the 28th Joint Memorial Service on the 72nd anniversary at the Gokjeom Memorial Altar in Sincheon-ri, Sicheon-myeon, Sancheong-gun on the morning of the 18th.

About 50 people attended the memorial service, including bereaved families, association members, residents, and heads of related organizations.

The memorial service, led by the bereaved families, is held annually on April 10th to console the souls of civilians from the Sicheon and Samjang areas who were sacrificed by the national army during the Yeosu-Suncheon Incident. This year, it was postponed to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and was held this time.
