Yoo Jin-seop, Jeongeup Mayor, Accelerates Reconstruction of Donghak Peasant Revolution Statue

[Jeongeup=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kim Jae-gil] On the 18th, Yoo Jin-seop, mayor of Jeongeup City, Jeonbuk, presided over a video executive meeting and ordered the relevant departments to make efforts so that citizens can actively participate in the fundraising for the reconstruction of the Donghak Peasant Revolution statue.

Mayor Yoo stated, "Fundraising activities are ongoing to erect a new Donghak Peasant Revolution statue in Jeongeup City, the birthplace and sacred site of the Donghak Peasant Revolution," and added, "It is more important to have the participation of many citizens rather than large donations from specific individuals."

He also urged, "Please actively promote so that many citizens can come together and participate in the historical moment when a new statue representing the ideology and spirit of the Donghak Peasant Revolution is established."

Mayor Yoo instructed to thoroughly inspect the overall project management, achievements, and plans for next year regarding the government public offering projects, which are increasing every year, and to prepare a differentiated response strategy unique to Jeongeup.

In particular, he strongly ordered efforts to maintain an organic cooperative relationship with the relevant departments of Jeonbuk Province and to be selected for various public offering projects through prompt understanding and response to major policy trends.

He also asked each project department to carefully inspect and check the major project sites and facilities to be completed by the end of the year before their completion.

Mayor Yoo emphasized putting full effort into COVID-19 quarantine activities, traffic, and recreational order establishment during the autumn season as well as daily quarantine measures.

Along with this, starting from the 25th, the "Mandatory Separate Disposal of Transparent PET Bottles" will be implemented in row houses and detached houses, requiring transparent PET bottles to be separated from plastic products when disposed of. He instructed thorough on-site surveys and resident publicity.

Mayor Yoo said, "In a situation where the recycling market is struggling due to COVID-19, please devote yourself to cleaning administration for the efficient collection and disposal of the continuously increasing transparent PET bottles," and added, "Actively promote so that the related system can be established early."
