[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] BMT, a specialist company in fittings and valves, announced on the 18th that it will participate in the '2021 International Shipbuilding and Marine Industry Exhibition KORMARINE (hereinafter Kormarine)' held at BEXCO in Busan from the 19th to the 22nd, showcasing products for ships.
Marking its 22nd edition this year, Kormarine is a biennial event presenting new technologies and cutting-edge equipment in global shipbuilding, offshore plants, and marine energy. It is considered one of the world's top five shipbuilding and marine equipment exhibitions alongside Germany's Hamburg Shipbuilding Fair (SMM), Norway's Ship Equipment Exhibition (NOR-SHIPPING), Greece's Shipbuilding and Marine Equipment Exhibition (POSIDONIA), and China's Shanghai Ship Equipment Exhibition (MARINTEC CHINA).
BMT plans to exhibit cryogenic valves and medium-high pressure products used in LNG (liquefied natural gas) vessels and eco-friendly ships, while building networks with various global companies. In particular, since last year, as global LNG vessel orders have increased, orders for BMT's cryogenic valves have also been rising. Medium-high pressure valves are also considered essential products for expanding hydrogen infrastructure, so it is expected that full-scale sales expansion will occur in line with future climate change and carbon neutrality trends.
A company official stated, "We are accelerating product production due to the surge in LNG vessel demand," adding, "The full-scale start of LNG vessel orders from Qatar within this year is also a hopeful factor." According to the industry, about 20 LNG vessels are expected to be ordered this month alone. The official further added, "We will strive to quickly respond to the global ship market trends to maximize performance growth and benefit from the industry conditions."
Meanwhile, BMT will also participate in the Busan·Ulsan·Gyeongnam Smart Factory Conference & Expo held at BEXCO for three days starting from the 20th. The company plans to showcase energy solutions developed based on power measurement modules for distribution boards and smart grids and communicate its plans to strengthen competitiveness for carbon neutrality.
