POSCO Terminal Donates Agricultural Produce Packages Worth 100 Million Won for Hope

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] On the 18th, Gwangyang City in Jeonnam announced that on the 15th, POSCO Terminal donated 'Hope Agricultural Produce Packages' worth 100 million won to the Gwangyang City Love Sharing Welfare Foundation as part of practicing neighborly love.

POSCO Terminal delivered 1,000 bags of 10kg white rice to 12 town and township offices in the region, and 1,200 sets of processed daily necessities and agricultural products to six vulnerable groups and social welfare facilities. The white rice and agricultural produce packages will be provided to recipients experiencing economic difficulties.

The agricultural produce packages were prepared by purchasing agricultural products from farms damaged by this year's floods and COVID-19.

Kim Bok-tae, President of POSCO Terminal, said, "We have been considering social contribution activities for coexistence with the local community," and added, "We hope this donation will help alleviate the difficulties of vulnerable groups."

Deputy Mayor Kim Kyung-ho said, "We thank President Kim Bok-tae of POSCO Terminal and the executives and employees for their generous support for neighbors facing economic difficulties due to COVID-19."

He continued, "The city will also strive to ensure that more sharing spreads and that warm hands reach neighbors in welfare blind spots."

Meanwhile, POSCO Terminal, as part of practicing POSCO Group's corporate citizenship management philosophy, is actively participating with executives and employees in resolving local issues for coexistence and mutual growth by carrying out activities such as △ delivering safety kits to veterans △ earthquake and environmental cleanup activities △ supporting the Gwangyang City Childcare Foundation (250 accounts, 9 million won annually) △ and 'Clean Gwangyang Clean Road' activities.
