Seoul Startup Hub and OB Beer Collaborate to Foster ESG Startups

[Asia Economy Reporter Junhyung Lee] Seoul Startup Hub announced on the 18th that it is recruiting startups to participate in the 'OB Beer·Seoul Startup Meetup' program. The application period is until the 8th of next month.

The OB Beer·Seoul Startup Meetup program selects about 10 startups possessing innovative technologies such as ▲ESG (environment, social, governance) ▲work efficiency and automation ▲artificial intelligence (AI) and big data, and provides close support for investment attraction and global expansion. Seoul Startup Hub signed a business agreement (MOU) with OB Beer and has been running this program for three years by building a collaborative business model. One of the startups discovered through the program, Reharvest, signed an upcycling contract for beer lees byproducts with OB Beer and developed energy bars using beer lees.

OB Beer supports technology commercialization for pre-verification of prototypes for the finally selected startups. Branding through technological cooperation and direct investment are also being considered. Seoul Startup Hub supports commercialization and global expansion in the large corporation collaboration space located within its main building.

The final evaluation will be conducted through OB Beer's internal assessment. Seoul Startup Hub plans to individually notify the startups finally selected in early December this year. The selected startups will participate in the global startup festival 'Try Everything 2022' to present the progress of technology verification and business performance.

Meanwhile, Seoul Startup Hub operates a nurturing system that discovers and matches promising startups in cooperation with large corporations such as OB Beer, Mercedes-Benz Korea, POSCO, and S-Oil.

Lim Jungwoon, Director of Seoul Startup Hub, said, "We will strengthen the large corporation collaboration system for the Seoul startup ecosystem with the know-how we have accumulated in discovering and supporting excellent startups through collaboration with large corporations."
